Understand your water, gas and electricity bills

SIG automatically sends customers two types of bills for their electricity, gas and water consumption: intermediary bills, which are issued every two months and usage bills, which are issued once a year.

  • The intermediary bill (is based on an estimate of your energy use of the previous year.
  • The usage bill is based on your meter reading. This is carried out once a year by a SIG technician.
Intermediary bills (Factures Intermédiares) are issued every two months. By default, customers are sent a simplified version of their bill, in the post.

If you’d like a more detailed version, the intermediary bill in its original format is always available online in your personal space. The estimated bill only comes in a paper version.

Did you know that you can also choose to read your meter yourself and to receive bills based on your actual usage, and not on estimated energy use?
Once a year, SIG sends customers an energy bill based on a meter reading carried out by a qualified SIG professional.
This bill (facture de consommation) enables deductions to be carried out for intermediary bills and reimbursements for any overpayments. The energy that you are billed for corresponds to the exact amount between the meter reading that has just been carried out and the reading undertaken the previous year.
