Using lake water to heat or cool

In the heart of Geneva is one of the most significant energy reserves in Europe: Lake Leman, the largest European Alpine lake, holding 89 billion cubic metres of water. In places, the lake is 45 metres deep and at these depths, the water maintains a stable temperature of approximately 7 degrees, all year round.

Geneva’s GeniLac project is a highly innovative thermal solution that is 100% renewable, and which uses water from the lake to heat and cool the city.

To choose GeniLac is to support a major innovation in the field of thermal heating, and to help the city of Geneva in its transition to new energy sources.
